Is Printing Online Coupons Worth the Cost?

If you are just getting into the couponing game you may be asking yourself if printing online coupons is worth the cost and effort. Does the cost of printing outweigh the value of the coupon? In a word, YES! Here are some tips to make printing online coupons worthwhile.

Print high value coupons

Online coupons are often higher in value than their newspaper counterparts. In addition, many retailers offer their store coupons online. These can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for extra savings.

Use coupon databases make it easier to find coupons

With the rise in popularity of couponing, a ton of couponing blogs and websites have sprung up. In addition to alerting you to deals and coupon match ups, some of them maintain a database of all printable online coupons.

Use coupon databases to save time

Using the online coupon databases available, you can get coupons a lot faster than ordering from coupon clipping services or eBay and you don’t have to wait for the Sunday paper.

Save on paper and ink

  • Only print high-value coupons you know you will use. If you print a coupon and don’t use it then you are throwing away money.
  • Search online for cheap ink. Toner or ink is the greatest cost in printing so make sure you are getting the best deal. There are many great deals to found on the internet.
  • Change your printer settings to print in “Fast Draft” and “black and white only”. Not only will this save on ink, it will speed the printing time.
  • Print multiple coupons per page. Always try to print 3-4 coupons per page.
  • Use scratch paper. Instead of throwing out scrap paper or even putting it in the recycle bin, keep it by your printer and print your coupons to the unused side.

By using these tips you can keep your costs low while getting some great deals with online coupons.

Changing the print option to fast draft is a great way to save on money. Plus, as the name of it suggests, it prints faster. The best of two worlds! I must admit though, I don’t spend a lot of time finding and using coupons. I save money in other ways and this is just one way I don’t commit a lot of time to. I know a lot of people who are successful at it. Maybe I will get into it one day, but I just haven’t yet. I do look for online coupon codes for major purchases though.
