The Survey Project Update #1

Last month I wrote about my foray into online survey taking and promised to update you on my progress once a month. As far as taking surveys this has been a very slow month. I joined the Yakezie Challenge at the beginning of the month and as a result I’m spending a lot more time blogging and supporting my fellow Yakezie bloggers and less time taking surveys. My blog has really benefited from the Yakezie Challenge though so I don’t mind having less time to take surveys.

Surveys taken in March: 7 (one of the surveys was deemed invalid. Focusline does not give specific reasons for invalidating a survey. I’m watching to see how often this happens.)

$$ earned in March: $12

Notes:

1. Focusline states that it takes 2-6 weeks to review and approve surveys before the funds move from Pending to Available. I currently have a number of surveys that are now 11+ weeks old. I sent them an inquiry and they responded that they are backlogged and working to resolve the issue. I’ll be keeping an eye on this as well. No use taking surveys if you don’t get paid.

2. Focusline uses PayPal to process payments. I submitted a payout request on March 26th. After you request the payout they note processing time is 4-6 weeks. My payment is still pending.

3. It seems like most surveys I’ve tried to take this month I haven’t qualified for. This could simply be a result of my sporadic attempts at taking surveys, but I’ll be interested to see if this changes going forward.

April is off to a slow start as well but I’m going to try to get back on a regular schedule as I’d still like to bring in $100/month to contribute to my son’s 529 College Savings Plan. I’ll be back again next month to update you on my results.
