How to Make Down Time Profitable

We all need down time – the time where we can just sit and relax while zoning out to the TV. However, many of us, in particular our teenaged kids, waste what could be productive hours in front of the TV. Catching your favorite show or the news is great. Plopping down in front of the TV and staying there until bedtime is not okay.

Instead of wasting hours in front of the TV, consider using some of that take to bring in some additional cash. That’s right. You can actually make money while sitting on your couch and watching Extreme Couponing, and in a time where we are all trying to save every penny we can, bringing in a bit of extra income is always beneficial.

One great way to make a few extra bucks is by taking surveys. Many businesses are interested in knowing what the common public thinks about their products and services, and to acquire this information, hire companies which create and distribute surveys. These survey companies then recruit survey takers online, and allow them to get paid for surveys from home.

Filling out surveys is a relatively mindless and easy task, and it also allows you the chance to give feedback on some of the products you love to use around your home. As a reward, many of these companies will offer you discounts on products or even free products which can be a great way to avoid buying laundry detergent, dish soaps and other various household items.

However, if it is cash that you want, which most of us do, many online survey questions offer that as well. You can redeem the points you earn for taking surveys for cash, visa gift cards, and cards to other stores such as Amazon or Nike to purchase items your kids may need throughout the school year.

Those interested in taking surveys for rewards should note that not all online survey companies are legitimate. Some companies will offer rewards for surveys, but then may never make good on any of their promises. To avoid this, look for a company that promises to pay out – some will even have a contract stating that they are required to pay you for your services. Also, if the company requests your bank account information, then don’t sign up. You should never give your account information to a survey business as they have no reason to need it.

Taking surveys while watching TV can be a great way to bring in a little extra income in to your home, and it is relatively effortless. Just make sure that you perform adequate research and read reviews prior to signing up with any specific company. After you find one, however, enjoy yourself! In a sort time, you will be able to enjoy the perks of free items and cash for simply dishing out your opinion.

I am already blogging and reading while watching TV, although not at the same time. Maybe I should just give up watching TV! Maybe not entirely.
